History of Delfino Corporation
In 1962 Delfino Corporation was founded by brothers Sandy R. (Dick) Delfino, Jr. and Arthur R. Delfino as an Earthmoving/Site work contractor. In its first few years of existence, the company worked for general contractors and owners before eventually bidding public and private work on its own. In the sixties, New England saw a boom in golf course construction that the brothers took advantage of. They worked on municipal and private courses designed by golf course architects Geoffrey Cornish, Sam Mitchell, and others. In between golf course projects, Delfino Corporation began to diversify into commercial and industrial building construction. In 1974, Delfino Corp. became an authorized builder of Varco-Pruden pre-engineered buildings, and started to specialize in Design/Build projects while still performing site work for subdivisions and commercial developments. In the year 2000, the second generation, Richard Delfino and Robert Delfino (Dick’s sons) took the reigns of the company and continue to operate as a Design/Build Commercial and Industrial General Contractor.
